Downloading the Oracle XE Database

To download the Oracle XE database:

1. Select the most recent version of the Oracle XE Database from the Oracle database express edition website (http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/xe/index.html).
2. Read the license agreement for Oracle Database Express Addition. If you agree with the terms of the license agreement, click Accept.
3. Select the Oracle Database 10g Express Edition (Western European).
4. Click Run. OracleXE.exe will download and the Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Install Wizard will run, as shown below in figure 1.

Installing the Oracle XE Database

To install the Oracle XE database:

1. Click Next. The License Agreement window will open.
2. Read the license agreement. If you agree with the terms of the license agreement, select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next. The Choose Destination Location window will open, as shown below in figure 2.

3. If you want to change the destination folder for installation, click Browse and select the destination folder of your choice.
4. Click Next. The Specify Database Passwords window will open, as shown below in figure 3.

5. Enter a password and click Next. The Summary window will open.
6. Review the installation settings and click Install. The Oracle XE database will install.
7. Click Finish.
